Andreas Nikolaou was born in Cyprus in 1966. He studied painting at the Academy of Art in Munich with a scholarship from Erasmus and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Athens with scholarship from IKY under the teacher P. Tetsis. He graduated with distinction in 1992. He has participated in many group exhibitions including: National Gallery, Athens School of Fine Arts, Biennale - Turin - Helsinki - Barcelona, Vals - Maastricht, Pan - Amsterdam, Realisme '05 - Amsterdam, Art Karlsruhe '05, Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art Art. The Museum of Modern Art of Rome presented in 2003 a retrospective of his work and the Pierides Museum of Cyprus presented in 2005 the exhibition entitled “The Minotaur Portrait”. In 2007 he was awarded with Ten for the Letters and Arts Award.
