Between the Folds: Documentary Screening

Loukia & Michael Zampelas Art Museum is screening GREEN FUSE FILMS' award–winning documentary Between the Folds which chronicles the stories of ten fine artists and intrepid theoretical scientists who have abandoned careers and scoffed at hard–earned graduate degrees—all to forge unconventional lives as modern–day paperfolders. 


Beyond the Ordinary: A Discussion with the Architects

Athos and Alkis Dikaios lead a talk which unfolds in three parts discussing the inspiration, influences and vision behind their work while exploring the relationship between Art and Architecture. The talk will take place at the Museum on Friday, 11th of October 2013, 19:00-20:00


World Book Day

On the occasion of World Book Day, the Loukia & Michael Zampelas Art Museum in collaboration with EN TYPOIS publishing house, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, present a selection of art books from the house's collection. The editor and artistic director of EN TYPOIS, Voula Kokkinou, will present the process of creating art books to both bibliophiles and students at 11:00 a.m. The presentation will focus on artists' monographs and collective books as well as Art Biennale catalogues published by Voula Kokkinou, which stand out for their design.


Poetry on Motherhood

Starting with the word mother, Cypriot writers are inspired by this powerful symbol and recite their own poetry. The event will be presented by the Director of Cultural Services, Mr. Pavlos Paraskevas and coordinated by Andys Roditis.

Memories and Experiences

Roundtable Discussion on the temporary exhibition Successive Compositions, currently on show at the Museum as part of the 50 years celebration, with Nikos Kouroussis, Myrto Makridou, Margaret Paraskos and Nitsa Hadjigeorgiou.

The conversation will be a narrative of the artists' memories and experiences, both as an artist's offspring as well as an advocate for the following generation.

Unicef Charity Market

The Loukia & Michael Zampelas Art Museum invites Unicef Charity Market to exhibit a variety of products, at low prices, towards the financial aid of Unicef Cyprus.
Unicef Cyprus, one of the co-organizers of the exhibition Zuzana Chalupová: Painter of the Child’s Soul, has also created postcards depicting works by the artist as a gesture of appreciation for her contribution.

The Artist’s Identity at Times of Territorial Shifts and Displacement

On Saturday 26 November at 11:00, for the finissage of the exhibition Horst Weierstall: From Sign to Action a round-table discussion will take place between artists Horst Weierstall, Klitsa Antoniou, Demetris Neokleous, Vicky Pericleous, Martin Meason and Hourig Torossian.

'Art Recipes' by Cypriot Artists from the Surikov Academy

On the occasion of the temporary exhibition 'First Generation of Cypriot Artists from the Surikov Academy of Fine Arts in Moscow', we are hosting a 3-hour presentation run by the participating artists, who by referring to their work will tell us their secrets for making colour and give us suggestions on how to apply various techniques. Each artist will represent his work through a different medium giving a broader idea of each medium's distinctiveness, aesthetic value and unique textural outcome.


Theophanis the Greek: the Genius Iconographer of the 14th-15th C. by Andreas Charalambous

Theophanis is considered to be a genius Byzantine iconographer who created in Byzantium and Russia in the middle of the 14th to the middle of the 15th century. The Russian iconography began in the 11th - 12th century, but Theophanis was the cornerstone on which the great Russian religious painting was based, with Andrei Rublev, Daniil Chyorny and Dionisius.
